Grant M. Gebhard, MD
Dr. Grant Gebhard grew up in Colorado, first along the Front Range in Denver and then in Grand Junction on the western slope. He completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, graduating cum laude with a degree in Italian and a minor in international development.
After college, Dr. Gebhard returned to Denver for medical school at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He completed his internship in internal medicine at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City followed by his ophthalmology residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.
While in Little Rock Dr. Gebhard excelled academically, scoring in the top 6% nationwide on the ophthalmic knowledge assessment program (OKAP), given annually to all U.S. ophthalmology residents. His research included ophthalmic manifestations of aplastic anemia, rates of endophthalmitis (eye infection) in patients with fungal infections, and refractive outcomes of cataract surgery.
Dr. Gebhard provides comprehensive ophthalmic care, including oculoplastics, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), medical and laser glaucoma care, advanced cataract surgery, and refractive corneal surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Gebhard is married and has four daughters. He loves spending time outdoors skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and backpacking. Other hobbies include reading, playing the piano and organ, and teaching Italian to his daughters. He speaks fluent Italian and Spanish.
