Not only are we affiliated with Animas Surgical Hospital and Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango, Colorado, and the Four Corners Ambulatory Surgery Center in Farmington, New Mexico, but we make it easy for primary care physicians and subspecialists in larger metropolitan areas to refer their patients for advanced ophthalmologic care at Southwest Eye Consultants.

In addition, our practice has established a Retinal Research Center at our main office in Durango, where a dedicated team of researchers are currently conducting studies aimed at improving the efficacies of treatments for macular degeneration, the detection of diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema, and other ocular conditions. Ours is the region’s only retinal research center offering clinical trial participation in sight-saving therapeutic treatment.
